"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these." — Mark 10:14
The joy and exuberance of seeing the world though children’s eyes is one of the greatest gifts God gave us. Parents are eager to both protect their children’s innocence while preparing them for independence and adulthood. First Protestant Church passionately extends our services and resources to help parents in any way we can. We place high priority on our ministries to children. We want kids to learn the true power of the love God has for each one of them. We are here to help lead children to a clear understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and instill in them a heart to serve Him. Our ministries to children are as diverse as the children themselves! Please contact Jill Rodriguez at 830.609.7729 ext. 26 for more information on any of our regular programs listed below.
A staffed nursery is provided for infants-36 months in the FPC School area. A nursery leader will meet you and your child at the check-in area to receive your child, diaper bag, and other necessary items. At the time of check-in, a card with a unique number will be provided for you, your child and your diaper bag. We ask that you present your card when picking up your child. A child will not be released to anyone without a card with a matching number.
A special class is provided for preschool-aged children (3-4 year-olds) in the FPC School area (following the check-in/check-out procedures as our nursery). Leaders use singing, games, crafts, lessons and other fun activities to teach children about their loving Heavenly Father.
Children's Sunday School
Our elementary-aged (K-5) Sunday School classes provide age-appropriate Bible lessons and learning activities that encourage every child’s social and spiritual development. Each class is led by a skilled and dedicated teacher who is committed to helping children understand God and His word.
Kids’ Church is our special worship time for elementary-aged (K-5) students. Leaders teach and disciple students in both large and small group settings. We encourage children in worship behavior, giving fun and exciting Bible-based lessons, teaching songs of praise and playing great games!
Vacation Bible School
VBS is a week-long summer Bible program with an emphasis on learning more about God, His word, worship, and other concepts of faith in Jesus Christ. During VBS, children enjoy classroom time with leaders doing crafts, singing, playing games and a whole lot more -- it’s the most exciting week of the summer! Click here to register.
Kids’ Connection events are a special opportunity for children to get together and have a great time with other kids who love Jesus! Sometimes going to the Eden Home to sing, or gathering in Seele Auditorium to watch a movie in our pajamas -- you never know what sort of fun time of fellowship might be in the works!
Staff and Volunteers
We are as concerned about your child’s safety as you are! All of our children’s ministries are staffed by volunteers who have been approved for service after an application and screening process. We take your child’s security seriously and have policies in place to insure that every child will be safe and cared for in all of our children’s ministry areas. If you are interested in becoming a children’s ministry volunteer, please contact Jill Rodriguez at ext. 26 for more information and an application packet.
